Winter Alpinism In the heart of winter, conditions are often very settled for winter alpinism. In Chamonix, thanks to cable cars, one is really quickly away from the madding crowds. Ascend a snow couloir or an ice goulotte is a beautiful way to discover the mountains. Period: from December till June depending on the conditions. The best classic routes to discover: 1 guide for 2 persons Level: good cramponing technique and good physical conditions Possible climbs: Cosmique Ridge, North face of Aguille de Toule, Cosmique Goulotte . Classic goulottes : 1 guide for 2 persons Level: very good cramponing technique (grade 4 ice), very good physical conditions.
